SUMMARY:PRSC Women's Group meeting - Jan 3rd
DESCRIPTION:Happy new year everyone!  Hope you had a merry Christmas\, happy Hanukkah\, or joyous whatever. \nOur next Pine Ridge Shooters Club Women’s Group meeting will be in a week:  Jan 3\, 6PM.  Remember\, we’ll go out to dinner afterward for those who’d like to join us. \nTopics for next week will be to announce the newest chapter of A Girl and A Gun\, tell you about AG & AG and why you might want to join it.  We’ll then open the floor to any topics you want to discuss and plan topics for upcoming meetings.   \nTo summarize this first year of our shooters club\, on the Women’s Group side\, we held show and tells for pistols\, rifles\, and shotguns\, accessories and gear bags\, and holsters.  We played with laser pointers to show effective use of cover in a defensive situation\, practiced handling malfunctions\, did some dry practice with dummy rounds\, I showed some videos of the fun I had at the AG&AG Fall Fest 3-gun competition\, and we held a pistol cleaning session.  I ran 3 (or was it 4?) Pistol 101 courses followed by a women’s shoot at Outpost Range.  Did I miss anything? \nFor the next year\, we can replay any of the previous\, or cover new subjects that you’re interested in.  FYI\, at the February 15th general meeting\, we’ll have a US Law Shield representative\, an attorney\, and a former law enforcement officer come talk about gun laws and what you need to know if you have to use your gun in self defense. \nIn summary\, we covered a lot of ground this past year and I need your help charting the course for next year.  Thank you for participating in our club\, and I hope to see you soon. \nSue \n  \nP.S.  Pistol 101 has now been broken into 2 sessions:  Introduction to Pistol Shooting\, and Intro part 2.  We already have a full Intro part 1 class for Jan 8 and will hold another in mid-late Feb.  Intro part 2 will follow in March.  More details soon.

DESCRIPTION:It’s time to meet again:  6pm Monday November 1 at the Pine Ridge Community Center – – can you believe it’s NOVEMBER already?!?! \nI attended the A Girl and A Gun Fall Fest 2021.  This was my second Fall Fest and was even more fun than the first one.  At our Pine Ridge Shooters Club – Women’s Group (PRSC-W) meeting we’ll discuss different competitive disciplines and how they make us better shooters and keep it fun for us.  I’ll show videos of some of the competitions and we can critique\, laugh\, and be entertained by some of the shenanigans (safety first) that go on during competitions. \nLori Roth and I ran another Pistol 101 last Saturday and had 10 ladies in attendance.  Some took the course for the second time\, which is a great idea.  There’s a lot to pistol shooting\, and no one can be expected to take it all in the first time.  We’ll run another course in January.

DESCRIPTION:PRSC Women’s Group meetings is scheduled for 600\, Monday August 2ns at the Pine Ridge Community Center. \nAll are welcome!\n\n\n\nAugust already?!?!?!  Must mean that we’re going to meet on Monday at 6pm. \n \nThis month’s topic will be Stoppages and Malfunctions.  What’s the difference between them\, how to remedy them\, and how to avoid them\, all keeping safety in mind.\n \nWe’ll have dummy rounds and pistols for you to perform malfunction drills with\, so this meeting will be very hands-on.\n \n \nI admit I was hesitant to carry a semi-auto pistol (vs revolver) because my semi-auto pistol experience was mostly with a .22 and I “didn’t trust” that a semi-auto wouldn’t malfunction.  \n \nWith additional training\, I realized that \n   1) .22 ammo is inherently less reliable than centerfire ammo\, \n   2) .22 pistols are often finicky about the brand of ammo they’ll reliably feed\, and \n \nMOST IMPORTANTLY\n   3) the problem was not a lack of trust in the gun\, it was my own lack of training.\n \n \nWith additional training and regular practice\, I now have the freedom to carry a semi-auto pistol with greater capacity than a revolver\, and the added opportunity for rapid reloads.\n \nHope you can join us Monday\, Aug 2 at 6pm in the Pine Ridge Community Center to drill Stoppages and Malfunctions.\n \nSue\nNRA Certified CRSO\, Basic Pistol\, Rifle\, and CCW Instructor\n352-300-0890

DESCRIPTION:The Pine Ridge Shooters Club Meeting is held at the Pine Ridge Community Center and will Start at 6pm and finish a 8pm. \nThis is going to be a very special event with our Guest Speakers that include:! \nDetective Brian Casalvieri of the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office and a State Attorney Will be Joining us \n To discuss the law enforcement response to a shooting scene. He will describe what you may expect from the police investigation in the unlikely event you shoot another person in defense of yourself or another person. A States Attorney will also be joining us will provide an overview of applicable laws that relate to this situation.

DESCRIPTION:Happy new year everyone!  Hope you had a merry Christmas\, happy Hanukkah\, or joyous whatever. \nOur next Pine Ridge Shooters Club Women’s Group meeting will be in a week:  Jan 3\, 6PM.  Remember\, we’ll go out to dinner afterward for those who’d like to join us. \nTopics for next week will be to announce the newest chapter of A Girl and A Gun\, tell you about AG & AG and why you might want to join it.  We’ll then open the floor to any topics you want to discuss and plan topics for upcoming meetings.   \nTo summarize this first year of our shooters club\, on the Women’s Group side\, we held show and tells for pistols\, rifles\, and shotguns\, accessories and gear bags\, and holsters.  We played with laser pointers to show effective use of cover in a defensive situation\, practiced handling malfunctions\, did some dry practice with dummy rounds\, I showed some videos of the fun I had at the AG&AG Fall Fest 3-gun competition\, and we held a pistol cleaning session.  I ran 3 (or was it 4?) Pistol 101 courses followed by a women’s shoot at Outpost Range.  Did I miss anything? \nFor the next year\, we can replay any of the previous\, or cover new subjects that you’re interested in.  FYI\, at the February 15th general meeting\, we’ll have a US Law Shield representative\, an attorney\, and a former law enforcement officer come talk about gun laws and what you need to know if you have to use your gun in self defense. \nIn summary\, we covered a lot of ground this past year and I need your help charting the course for next year.  Thank you for participating in our club\, and I hope to see you soon. \n  \nSue \n  \nP.S.  Pistol 101 has now been broken into 2 sessions:  Introduction to Pistol Shooting\, and Intro part 2.  We already have a full Intro part 1 class for Jan 8 and will hold another in mid-late Feb.  Intro part 2 will follow in March.  More details soon.
