Survival instincts kick in. \nIn this Post-Apocalyptic landscape radiation oozes everywhere. Things survive underground and hunting groundhog is not a new thing. Finding their burrows in the middle of a Marauder camp is. Target the game food but don’t rush into danger till you have cleared the rest of the field. \nNavigate through the marauders taking one situation at a time. Under fire there are surprise targets and Pragmatic rats. If the rats reach the game food they will infect your hunt. \nAdding a kicker to that\, your out of bullets\, think twice and load the ammo you find.

DESCRIPTION:March 5th Rifle Fun Shoot \nKnow Your Limits! \nDouble Match Double prize Money! \nFirst Match is .22 KYL at 50 yards \n1st Place is $100 cash and bragging rights. \n2nd Place is $20 cash. \ncheck-in at 10 AM. \nStart after safety briefing at 10:30 \nFinish at 1:00 \nThe cost of this Match Event – $20 \n__________________________ \nSecond Match is .223/556 KYL at 100 yards \n1st Place is $100 cash and bragging rights. \n2nd Place is $20 cash. \ncheck-in before 1 PM. \nStart after safety briefing by 1:30 \nFinish at 3:30 \nThe cost of this Match Event – $20 \nThis Fun Shoot is open to All skill levels even first timers. \nBring a Rifle and ammo for the match you want to shoot or shoot Both. \n  \nWhat is Know Your Limits (KYL) \nYou engage a KYL steel target by starting with the largest target first and shooting each subsequently smaller target gaining points for each target struck. You can stop at any target to keep the points you’ve earned. The catch is that if you miss\, you lose all your points. To get as many points as possible you need- to know your limits. \nThe know your limits drill (KYL) is a great way to practice your marksmanship skills. \nTarget consist of 7 targets sized from bigger to smallest: 8/7/6/5/4/3/2″ \nRules \nThere are 7 targets in total. Hitting a target allows the shooter to progress to the next smaller target or opt out to keep his points. \nThe shooter can opt to stop at any time. If the shooter proceeds to the next target and takes the shot but misses he loses all of his points and is out of the match for that round with a score of zero\, hence the name “know your limits”. \nThe target stand is placed at 50 and 100 yards depending on the match. These matches are Open Division where shooters may fire from the prone\, sitting\, or bench positions using bipods\, sand bags and rear bags as rests. Iron sights\, red dot or optics are allowed- Basically shoot with the accessories you have and have Fun. \nTargets must be shot in order\, largest to smallest. Target must visibly “swing” to be counted as a hit (Range Officials decision is final). If a target is shot at and missed\, you lose all accumulated points for that set. If a target is shot out of order\, you lose all points for that set. You may stop at any time and keep all points earned for that set. If time runs out and you have not missed\, you keep your points for that set. \n•   A Match is 3 sets shot. Score for a match is the total from those 3 sets. \n•   Target point assignment: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 = 28 possible points per round \n•   There is a 3-minute time limit per set starting at the buzzer after load and make ready. \n•   NO COACHING – Shooter is responsible for hitting correct target\, doping wind\, etc. \n•   Scores are announced at the end of each match. A tie goes to a shoot-off. \nDon’t forget you could possibly win $100 at each Match = $200.

Clearing that field of rats with your trusty shotgun has left your ammo belt and ammo can even more dire straits. Luckily you did find some pistol rounds and the right caliber. But now you have bigger issues\, a hole in your water jug and running low on water… the essential of life. \nAt this point its survival mode! Your going to have to return back where you scavenge before to find a water-can or container but Marauders are everywhere. Water is heavy and you need to carry out as much as you can. Use your strong hand to carry the water and learn to shoot with your weak hand is key. \nWith radiation blowing everywhere get in and get out as time is not on your side.

Things get quickly complicated when you discover a compound with what looks like a tower antenna. Is it operational? Could you send out a long range message? How many Marauders stand in the way? \nYou are forced to choose between leaving and not knowing if others are out there or Navigating a storm of Marauders controlling what maybe\, one of the last operational radio towers in the zone. \nRunning low on ammo. Make your way across the dilapidated building with long distance rifle shots till you run out then defend your way with the side arm to the radio controls. \nIf you are over run and forced to Destroy the generator that powers the tower\, what will you use? Check your backpack! With the radiation\, get in and get out as time is not on your side.

DESCRIPTION:Ladies – I missed seeing you on the first Monday of the month for our Pine Ridge Shooters Club Women’s (PRSC-W) meeting.  Hope you all had a fun and safe Independence Day weekend instead. \n\nAlthough we didn’t have a Women’s meeting in July\, we are having a PRSC meeting on Tuesday July 13 and will have Sheriff Mike Prendergast as our guest speaker.\n\nWe’re also holding another Women-only shoot!!  On Saturday\, July 17th I’ll be teaching Pistol 101 to another set of ladies then taking them to the range.  We’ll be at the competition range and have paper targets set up at the rifle range\, steels set up in the left bay and the short tactical course set up in the right bay.  In other words\, we’ll have something for everyone.\n\nIf you haven’t shot with us before\, this is the time to join us.  If you haven’t shot in a while\, this is the time to brush up on your skills.  If you’ve remained current\, this is the time to take your skills to the next level.  We’ll have extra coaches available to ensure everyone has a great experience\, improves their skills\, and stays safe.\n\n\n\nPistol 101 will be held 9-noon Saturday July 17 at the Pine Ridge Community Center and is free for club members.\n\nThe Pistol 101 course is designed to teach you to safely shoot a semi-automatic pistol or revolver with supervision.  You will learn the NRA’s five fundamentals of pistol shooting as well as proper grip and stance and leave prepared for the range time in the afternoon.  You can bring your own pistol or let me know if you would like to borrow one of mine.  NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM.\n\n\nThe shoot is 1-3 Saturday afternoon at Outpost Range’s competition range and will cost $15 (paid at the Outpost office).\nYou must have a current Outpost Range membership\, so arrive 30-45 minutes early if you haven’t already joined.  Remember your eye and ear protection\, pistol\, ammunition\, chamber flag\, water (with a screw-top\, no straws or sippy cups allowed)\, ball cap\, closed toe shoes\, etc. \n\nOur next meeting will be 6pm on Monday\, August 2.  We will go through malfunctions – what they are\, what causes them\, and what to do about them.  Remember\, a malfunction in and of itself is not dangerous.  It’s what you do after experiencing a malfunction that could create a dangerous situation.  Therefore\, if while shooting\, you see\, hear\, or feel anything out of the ordinary and do not know how to address it\, do nothing.  That means keep your finger off the trigger\, keep your firearm pointed downrange\, keep looking downrange.  Then you can raise your non-dominant hand\, and a Range Safety Officer will help you address the issue in a safe manner.  At our next PRSC-W meeting\, we’ll show you how to address malfunctions on your own. \n\n\n\n\nSee you soon\,\nSue Wassermann\n352-300-0890\nNRA Certified Pistol\, Rifle\, and CCW Instructor\, and Chief Range Safety Officer\n\n\n  \nRegister Now!

DESCRIPTION:Shoot Scheduled for Friday May 21st 10:30-1:30pm \nWe are scheduling this for a weekday shoot and early in the day (So it will be less hot) \n\nThe course will be approximately 65 yards long\, and has about 20 targets.\n50 roumds minimum\, not designated round count for the run itself.\nMag changes will need to be done most likely and are part of the point structure.\nIt’s scenario driven\, reacting to an active shooter scenario.\nYou will start seated at a table inside a room.\nAt sound of air horn\, you will stand up\, draw\, egress back to the outside front of the structure.\nYou will assess the situation\, then start to move back inside and  Erin clearing your way through the course.\nThere is hallways\, open field area\, simulating that you have moved outside the back of the structure.\nYou have several cover/concealment positions through the open field portion\, making your way to the next structure.\nOnce you make it into the next structure\, you have a few hostiles to deal with\, getting to the final position.\nOnce there\, you must engage the Leader\, who is holding a civilian hostage.\nThere are multiple civilians on the course\, any impacts on them will result in -5 points.\nAny mag changes or malfunctions dealt with in the open will result in -1 point.\nIf any targets are bypassed without engaging\, it will result in -2 points.\n\nLimited to 25 people \nClick here to register! \n

Load 8 rounds in each magazine.\n2- Shooters will face the Target from behind the table at the firing line.\n3- Shooters will wait for further instruction. \nShoot Activity Steps-\n1- On signal\, Shooters will safely pick up their firearm and one 8 round mag / or load cylinder\n2- Shooters will load mag / close cylinder and engage black dots displayed on target board.\n3- Shooters will fire 1 round at each black dot from starting position.\n4- Shooters will then move at a quick pace to next offset table and acquire second 8 round mag and do mag change. If shooter has mag holder\, shooter can do mag change in route.\n5- Shooter will then move to barricade and fire one round from each designated port.\n6- Shooter MUST fire from each designated port. If shooter has mobility issues\, notify RSO before run starts\, so RSO can designate alternate course of action. Type of mobility issue will dictate alternate course\, not all will be the same. \n\nOne impact on each black dot at each engagement area is required for full points.\nEach impact is worth 1 point for total of 16 points from registered impacts\nEach shooter will be timed during their run.\n40 seconds or less will acquire 4 additional points for total of 20 possible points per shooter\n41-50 seconds will acquire additional 3 points for total of 19 possible points per shooter\n51-60 seconds will acquire 2 additional points for total of 18 possible points per shooter\nAnything over 1 minute will negate any additional points\n\nTarget boards and barricades will be offset with more than 15 degrees from adjacent shooter \nShooters will be assigned to a team by RSO as per usual \nTeam with highest overall score will be designated the WINNER \nYou must have a membership at Outpost. DESCRIPTION:Shoot Scheduled for Sunday Feb 28th 1-3 Pm at Outpost \nThe first 25 people who sign up can come. \nA bigger bang for your buck! \nThis weekend’s shoot will have something for everyone. \nYou can shoot \n\nPaper targets\,\nBianchi (falling) steel plates\,\nThe Steel Challenge\,\nThe move & shoot course.\n\nIf you want to get a bigger training “bang” for your buck\, we have designed a course of fire for use at the paper and / or steel targets.  For those who want to shoot their own style\, you can do so in rotation with others.  We will have some folks shooting from a holster while others will shoot from the low-ready.  Revolver or semi-automatic?  We’ve got a plan.  Like I said\, something for everyone. \nThe courses of fire are designed to give you the most training for the least amount of ammunition – more bang for your buck.  We will incorporate drawing from a holster or from low ready\, quickly and accurately taking your first shot\, recoil management\, and reload/magazine change\, all while recording your time and accuracy.  You will compete with yourself to drive and show improvement. \nAt the January meeting we discussed the difficulty of finding training ammunition and skyrocketing prices.  We just can’t afford to throw a box of ammo downrange and hope we become faster and more accurate.  We want to get the most training out of each round of ammo. \nIf you have performed dry practice and are comfortable with safely drawing and presenting from your holster\, meet us at 12:00 at the main Outpost parking lot.  If you have not dry practiced with your holster or are not yet comfortable drawing and presenting from it\, bring your gear and meet us at 12:00 to observe and learn. \nFor this event\, only belt-mounted\, form fitted leather or kydex\, appendix or strong-side hip holsters will be allowed.  No shoulder holsters\, bra holsters\, purses/bags\, small of the back\, cross draw\, pocket holsters\, etc. will be allowed.  Mike\, Sue or Outpost Range Safety Officers may disqualify any holster they deem inappropriate for this event. \nRequired equipment: \n\nPistol (semi-automatic or revolver\, bring what you’ve got)\nTarget ammunition (not self-defense ammo)\nPaper targets if you’re going to shoot at the paper range\nEye protection\, ear protection\, chamber flag\n\nOptional equipment (the more of these items you have\, the more training you can perform): \n\nSpare magazines or speedloader and pouches to carry them (no pouches?  Wear pants with pockets.)\nSturdy belt for carrying holster and / or pouches\nConcealment garment (open front shirt or vest)\nDummy rounds for your caliber\n\nAgain\, if you do not have an appropriate holster or do not want to shoot from a holster you can participate in the event from the low ready.  No one will be left out.  If you want to become familiar with drawing from the holster\, come early and participate in the demonstrations at 12:00. \nYou must have a membership at Outpost.
