DESCRIPTION:Happy new year everyone!  Hope you had a merry Christmas\, happy Hanukkah\, or joyous whatever. \nOur next Pine Ridge Shooters Club Women’s Group meeting will be in a week:  Jan 3\, 6PM.  Remember\, we’ll go out to dinner afterward for those who’d like to join us. \nTopics for next week will be to announce the newest chapter of A Girl and A Gun\, tell you about AG & AG and why you might want to join it.  We’ll then open the floor to any topics you want to discuss and plan topics for upcoming meetings. \nTo summarize this first year of our shooters club\, on the Women’s Group side\, we held show and tells for pistols\, rifles\, and shotguns\, accessories and gear bags\, and holsters.  We played with laser pointers to show effective use of cover in a defensive situation\, practiced handling malfunctions\, did some dry practice with dummy rounds\, I showed some videos of the fun I had at the AG&AG Fall Fest 3-gun competition\, and we held a pistol cleaning session.  I ran 3 (or was it 4?) Pistol 101 courses followed by a women’s shoot at Outpost Range.  Did I miss anything? \nFor the next year\, we can replay any of the previous\, or cover new subjects that you’re interested in.  FYI\, at the February 15th general meeting\, we’ll have a US Law Shield representative\, an attorney\, and a former law enforcement officer come talk about gun laws and what you need to know if you have to use your gun in self defense. \nIn summary\, we covered a lot of ground this past year and I need your help charting the course for next year.  Thank you for participating in our club\, and I hope to see you soon. \n\nSue \n\nP.S.  Pistol 101 has now been broken into 2 sessions:  Introduction to Pistol Shooting\, and Intro part 2.  We already have a full Intro part 1 class for Jan 8 and will hold another in mid-late Feb.  Intro part 2 will follow in March.  More details soon.​ \n  \nBring your owner’s manual if you still have it from when you bought your gun.  Otherwise\, we may need to use YouTube to find out how to break it down and reassemble. \nLastly\, we’ll run an “Introduction to Pistol Shooting” course on January 8.  This course is for true beginners and is less intensive than the “Pistol 101” that we ran before.  Get more information and sign-up for the course on the shooters.pineridgeassn.com site. \nSee you Monday\, Dec 6 at 6PM\, and remember\, NO LIVE AMMO IN THE CLASSROOM.

DESCRIPTION:Pine Ridge Womens Club Shoot \nIf you have a Membership of any kind at Outpost Range\, the cost event will only be $15. \nIf you do not have a membership you will need to come between 10-12 noon on Friday (or any other time before the shoot to get a Range Card (Which is $20 a year and attend their safety training video) \nYou will of course need to bring your own Hand Gun and Ammunition as well as hearing\, eye protection and Chamber Flag. \nIf you need to borrow a pistol please contact Sue at  (352-300-0890 or h2omann@aol.com) \nIf you rate yourself a 1 or 2 (See the signup form) you will be required to take a preparatory clinic just to get them familiar with safety and the absolute basics of shooting.  Call it Pistol 101. \n\nIt will be no-live-ammunition training.\n2 sessions available\,\n\nTue Jan 12 at 2PM in the room over the barn\,\nFriday Jan 15\, 12PM in the PR Treasurer’s office.\n\n\nNO LIVE AMMUNITION ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM.\n\nAttendees will meet at Outpost at the main registration center no later than 12:45. DESCRIPTION:Shoot Scheduled for Jan 31st 1-3 Pm at Outpost \nThe first 20 people who sign up can come. \nA bigger bang for your buck! \nThis weekend’s shoot will have something for everyone. \nYou can shoot \n\nPaper targets\,\nBianchi (falling) steel plates\,\nThe Steel Challenge\,\nThe move & shoot course.\n\nIf you want to get a bigger training “bang” for your buck\, we have designed a course of fire for use at the paper and / or steel targets.  For those who want to shoot their own style\, you can do so in rotation with others.  We will have some folks shooting from a holster while others will shoot from the low-ready.  Revolver or semi-automatic?  We’ve got a plan.  Like I said\, something for everyone. \nThe courses of fire are designed to give you the most training for the least amount of ammunition – more bang for your buck.  We will incorporate drawing from a holster or from low ready\, quickly and accurately taking your first shot\, recoil management\, and reload/magazine change\, all while recording your time and accuracy.  You will compete with yourself to drive and show improvement. \nAt the January meeting we discussed the difficulty of finding training ammunition and skyrocketing prices.  We just can’t afford to throw a box of ammo downrange and hope we become faster and more accurate.  We want to get the most training out of each round of ammo. \nIf you have performed dry practice and are comfortable with safely drawing and presenting from your holster\, meet us at 12:00 at the main Outpost parking lot.  If you have not dry practiced with your holster or are not yet comfortable drawing and presenting from it\, bring your gear and meet us at 12:00 to observe and learn. \nFor this event\, only belt-mounted\, form fitted leather or kydex\, appendix or strong-side hip holsters will be allowed.  No shoulder holsters\, bra holsters\, purses/bags\, small of the back\, cross draw\, pocket holsters\, etc. will be allowed.  Mike\, Sue or Outpost Range Safety Officers may disqualify any holster they deem inappropriate for this event. \nRequired equipment: \n\nPistol (semi-automatic or revolver\, bring what you’ve got)\nTarget ammunition (not self-defense ammo)\nPaper targets if you’re going to shoot at the paper range\nEye protection\, ear protection\, chamber flag\n\nOptional equipment (the more of these items you have\, the more training you can perform): \n\nSpare magazines or speedloader and pouches to carry them (no pouches?  Wear pants with pockets.)\nSturdy belt for carrying holster and / or pouches\nConcealment garment (open front shirt or vest)\nDummy rounds for your caliber\n\nAgain\, if you do not have an appropriate holster or do not want to shoot from a holster you can participate in the event from the low ready.  No one will be left out.  If you want to become familiar with drawing from the holster\, come early and participate in the demonstrations at 12:00. \nYou must have a membership at Outpost. The day Range pass is $20 (Which is good for 1 year). Shoot Scheduled for Feb 11th 1-3 Pm at Outpost\n \nThe first 25 people who sign up can come. \nRequired equipment for this fun shoot \n\nSemi Auto Pistol-2 mags\, 2rounds per mag.\nCylinder Revolver-2rounds to load in cylinder and 2 rounds to reload.\nAll Safety equipment- Eyes Ears and Outpost Range requirements.\n\nStage Activity Steps-\n1- Place bagged firearm on table\, muzzle orientated down range. Load two rounds in each of the two magazines.\n2- Shooters then will face away from table toward firing line benches staying in the box square.\n3- Shooter waits for further instruction. \nShoot Activity Steps-\n1- On signal\, Shooter will safely turn around and pick up their firearm and one mag.\n2- Shooter will load first mag and engage color target notified by RSO.\n3- Shooter will fire 2 rds at proper trgt and do emergency mag change.\n4- Shooter will do mag change with firearm in their Workspace.\n5- Shooter will grab second mag from table and reload firearm.\n6- Shooter will fire 2 more rds at proper trgt\, then unload and show clear.\n7- Shooters time will stop once firearm is clear. \nShooters scored on correct impacts on PID trgts\, as well as overall time.\nAny Shooter that is colored blind please notify RSO activity is accommodated with numbers. \nRequired equipment: \n\nPistol (semi-automatic or revolver\, bring what you’ve got)\nTarget ammunition (not self-defense ammo)\nPaper targets if you’re going to shoot at the paper range\nEye protection\, ear protection\, chamber flag\n\nYou must have a membership at Outpost. DESCRIPTION:Shoot Scheduled for Sunday Feb 28th 1-3 Pm at Outpost \nThe first 25 people who sign up can come. \nA bigger bang for your buck! \nThis weekend’s shoot will have something for everyone. \nYou can shoot \n\nPaper targets\,\nBianchi (falling) steel plates\,\nThe Steel Challenge\,\nThe move & shoot course.\n\nIf you want to get a bigger training “bang” for your buck\, we have designed a course of fire for use at the paper and / or steel targets.  For those who want to shoot their own style\, you can do so in rotation with others.  We will have some folks shooting from a holster while others will shoot from the low-ready.  Revolver or semi-automatic?  We’ve got a plan.  Like I said\, something for everyone. \nThe courses of fire are designed to give you the most training for the least amount of ammunition – more bang for your buck.  We will incorporate drawing from a holster or from low ready\, quickly and accurately taking your first shot\, recoil management\, and reload/magazine change\, all while recording your time and accuracy.  You will compete with yourself to drive and show improvement. \nAt the January meeting we discussed the difficulty of finding training ammunition and skyrocketing prices.  We just can’t afford to throw a box of ammo downrange and hope we become faster and more accurate.  We want to get the most training out of each round of ammo. \nIf you have performed dry practice and are comfortable with safely drawing and presenting from your holster\, meet us at 12:00 at the main Outpost parking lot.  If you have not dry practiced with your holster or are not yet comfortable drawing and presenting from it\, bring your gear and meet us at 12:00 to observe and learn. \nFor this event\, only belt-mounted\, form fitted leather or kydex\, appendix or strong-side hip holsters will be allowed.  No shoulder holsters\, bra holsters\, purses/bags\, small of the back\, cross draw\, pocket holsters\, etc. will be allowed.  Mike\, Sue or Outpost Range Safety Officers may disqualify any holster they deem inappropriate for this event. \nRequired equipment: \n\nPistol (semi-automatic or revolver\, bring what you’ve got)\nTarget ammunition (not self-defense ammo)\nPaper targets if you’re going to shoot at the paper range\nEye protection\, ear protection\, chamber flag\n\nOptional equipment (the more of these items you have\, the more training you can perform): \n\nSpare magazines or speedloader and pouches to carry them (no pouches?  Wear pants with pockets.)\nSturdy belt for carrying holster and / or pouches\nConcealment garment (open front shirt or vest)\nDummy rounds for your caliber\n\nAgain\, if you do not have an appropriate holster or do not want to shoot from a holster you can participate in the event from the low ready.  No one will be left out.  If you want to become familiar with drawing from the holster\, come early and participate in the demonstrations at 12:00. \nYou must have a membership at Outpost. DESCRIPTION:Pine Ridge Womens Club Shoot \nIf you have a Membership of any kind at Outpost Range\, the cost event will only be $15. \nIf you do not have a membership you will need to come between 10-12 noon on Friday (or any other time before the shoot to get a Range Card (Which is $20 a year and attend their safety training video) \nYou will of course need to bring your own Hand Gun and Ammunition as well as hearing\, eye protection and Chamber Flag. \nIf you need to borrow a pistol please contact Sue at  (352-300-0890 or h2omann@aol.com) \nIf you rate yourself a 1 or 2 (See the signup form) you will be required to take a preparatory clinic just to get them familiar with safety and the absolute basics of shooting.  Call it Pistol 101. – Please contact Sue to Schedule \nAttendees will meet at Outpost at the main registration center no later than 12:45. DESCRIPTION:Shoot Scheduled for Sunday March 28th 1-3 Pm at Outpost \nThe first 25 people who sign up can come. \nThis weekend’s shoot will have something for everyone. \nOur Shoot plan for this weekend \nHigh intensity focus fire/ barricade shoot- (Target Focus / firearm manipulation Skill). \nRequired equipment for this fun shoot-\nSemi Auto Pistol- 2 mags able to hold min of 8 rounds. 8 rounds per mag.\nCylinder Revolver- enough rounds to load required amount in cylinder as necessary.\nAll Safety equipment- Eyes Ears and Outpost Range requirements. \nStage Activity Steps-\n1- Place bagged firearm on table\, muzzle orientated down range. Load 8 rounds in each magazine.\n2- Shooters will face the Target from behind the table at the firing line.\n3- Shooters will wait for further instruction. \nShoot Activity Steps-\n1- On signal\, Shooters will safely pick up their firearm and one 8 round mag / or load cylinder\n2- Shooters will load mag / close cylinder and engage black dots displayed on target board.\n3- Shooters will fire 1 round at each black dot from starting position.\n4- Shooters will then move at a quick pace to next offset table and acquire second 8 round mag and do mag change. If shooter has mag holder\, shooter can do mag change in route.\n5- Shooter will then move to barricade and fire one round from each designated port.\n6- Shooter MUST fire from each designated port. If shooter has mobility issues\, notify RSO before run starts\, so RSO can designate alternate course of action. Type of mobility issue will dictate alternate course\, not all will be the same. \n\nOne impact on each black dot at each engagement area is required for full points.\nEach impact is worth 1 point for total of 16 points from registered impacts\nEach shooter will be timed during their run.\n40 seconds or less will acquire 4 additional points for total of 20 possible points per shooter\n41-50 seconds will acquire additional 3 points for total of 19 possible points per shooter\n51-60 seconds will acquire 2 additional points for total of 18 possible points per shooter\nAnything over 1 minute will negate any additional points\n\nTarget boards and barricades will be offset with more than 15 degrees from adjacent shooter \nShooters will be assigned to a team by RSO as per usual \nTeam with highest overall score will be designated the WINNER \nYou must have a membership at Outpost. The day Range pass is $20 (Which is good for 1 year). DESCRIPTION:Shoot Scheduled for Friday May 21st 10:30-1:30pm \nWe are scheduling this for a weekday shoot and early in the day (So it will be less hot) \n\nThe course will be approximately 65 yards long\, and has about 20 targets.\n50 roumds minimum\, not designated round count for the run itself.\nMag changes will need to be done most likely and are part of the point structure.\nIt’s scenario driven\, reacting to an active shooter scenario.\nYou will start seated at a table inside a room.\nAt sound of air horn\, you will stand up\, draw\, egress back to the outside front of the structure.\nYou will assess the situation\, then start to move back inside and  Erin clearing your way through the course.\nThere is hallways\, open field area\, simulating that you have moved outside the back of the structure.\nYou have several cover/concealment positions through the open field portion\, making your way to the next structure.\nOnce you make it into the next structure\, you have a few hostiles to deal with\, getting to the final position.\nOnce there\, you must engage the Leader\, who is holding a civilian hostage.\nThere are multiple civilians on the course\, any impacts on them will result in -5 points.\nAny mag changes or malfunctions dealt with in the open will result in -1 point.\nIf any targets are bypassed without engaging\, it will result in -2 points.\n\nLimited to 25 people \nClick here to register! \n
