DESCRIPTION:Shoot Scheduled for Sunday March 28th 1-3 Pm at Outpost \nThe first 25 people who sign up can come. \nThis weekend’s shoot will have something for everyone. \nOur Shoot plan for this weekend \nHigh intensity focus fire/ barricade shoot- (Target Focus / firearm manipulation Skill). \nRequired equipment for this fun shoot-\nSemi Auto Pistol- 2 mags able to hold min of 8 rounds. 8 rounds per mag.\nCylinder Revolver- enough rounds to load required amount in cylinder as necessary.\nAll Safety equipment- Eyes Ears and Outpost Range requirements. \nStage Activity Steps-\n1- Place bagged firearm on table\, muzzle orientated down range. Load 8 rounds in each magazine.\n2- Shooters will face the Target from behind the table at the firing line.\n3- Shooters will wait for further instruction. \nShoot Activity Steps-\n1- On signal\, Shooters will safely pick up their firearm and one 8 round mag / or load cylinder\n2- Shooters will load mag / close cylinder and engage black dots displayed on target board.\n3- Shooters will fire 1 round at each black dot from starting position.\n4- Shooters will then move at a quick pace to next offset table and acquire second 8 round mag and do mag change. If shooter has mag holder\, shooter can do mag change in route.\n5- Shooter will then move to barricade and fire one round from each designated port.\n6- Shooter MUST fire from each designated port. If shooter has mobility issues\, notify RSO before run starts\, so RSO can designate alternate course of action. Type of mobility issue will dictate alternate course\, not all will be the same. \n\nOne impact on each black dot at each engagement area is required for full points.\nEach impact is worth 1 point for total of 16 points from registered impacts\nEach shooter will be timed during their run.\n40 seconds or less will acquire 4 additional points for total of 20 possible points per shooter\n41-50 seconds will acquire additional 3 points for total of 19 possible points per shooter\n51-60 seconds will acquire 2 additional points for total of 18 possible points per shooter\nAnything over 1 minute will negate any additional points\n\nTarget boards and barricades will be offset with more than 15 degrees from adjacent shooter \nShooters will be assigned to a team by RSO as per usual \nTeam with highest overall score will be designated the WINNER \nYou must have a membership at Outpost. The day Range pass is $20 (Which is good for 1 year). DESCRIPTION:Shoot Scheduled for Friday May 21st 10:30-1:30pm \nWe are scheduling this for a weekday shoot and early in the day (So it will be less hot) \n\nThe course will be approximately 65 yards long\, and has about 20 targets.\n50 roumds minimum\, not designated round count for the run itself.\nMag changes will need to be done most likely and are part of the point structure.\nIt’s scenario driven\, reacting to an active shooter scenario.\nYou will start seated at a table inside a room.\nAt sound of air horn\, you will stand up\, draw\, egress back to the outside front of the structure.\nYou will assess the situation\, then start to move back inside and  Erin clearing your way through the course.\nThere is hallways\, open field area\, simulating that you have moved outside the back of the structure.\nYou have several cover/concealment positions through the open field portion\, making your way to the next structure.\nOnce you make it into the next structure\, you have a few hostiles to deal with\, getting to the final position.\nOnce there\, you must engage the Leader\, who is holding a civilian hostage.\nThere are multiple civilians on the course\, any impacts on them will result in -5 points.\nAny mag changes or malfunctions dealt with in the open will result in -1 point.\nIf any targets are bypassed without engaging\, it will result in -2 points.\n\nLimited to 25 people \nClick here to register! \n

DESCRIPTION:Ladies – I missed seeing you on the first Monday of the month for our Pine Ridge Shooters Club Women’s (PRSC-W) meeting.  Hope you all had a fun and safe Independence Day weekend instead. \n\nAlthough we didn’t have a Women’s meeting in July\, we are having a PRSC meeting on Tuesday July 13 and will have Sheriff Mike Prendergast as our guest speaker.\n\nWe’re also holding another Women-only shoot!!  On Saturday\, July 17th I’ll be teaching Pistol 101 to another set of ladies then taking them to the range.  We’ll be at the competition range and have paper targets set up at the rifle range\, steels set up in the left bay and the short tactical course set up in the right bay.  In other words\, we’ll have something for everyone.\n\nIf you haven’t shot with us before\, this is the time to join us.  If you haven’t shot in a while\, this is the time to brush up on your skills.  If you’ve remained current\, this is the time to take your skills to the next level.  We’ll have extra coaches available to ensure everyone has a great experience\, improves their skills\, and stays safe.\n\n\n\nPistol 101 will be held 9-noon Saturday July 17 at the Pine Ridge Community Center and is free for club members.\n\nThe Pistol 101 course is designed to teach you to safely shoot a semi-automatic pistol or revolver with supervision.  You will learn the NRA’s five fundamentals of pistol shooting as well as proper grip and stance and leave prepared for the range time in the afternoon.  You can bring your own pistol or let me know if you would like to borrow one of mine.  NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM.\n\n\nThe shoot is 1-3 Saturday afternoon at Outpost Range’s competition range and will cost $15 (paid at the Outpost office).\nYou must have a current Outpost Range membership\, so arrive 30-45 minutes early if you haven’t already joined.  Remember your eye and ear protection\, pistol\, ammunition\, chamber flag\, water (with a screw-top\, no straws or sippy cups allowed)\, ball cap\, closed toe shoes\, etc. \n\nOur next meeting will be 6pm on Monday\, August 2.  We will go through malfunctions – what they are\, what causes them\, and what to do about them.  Remember\, a malfunction in and of itself is not dangerous.  It’s what you do after experiencing a malfunction that could create a dangerous situation.  Therefore\, if while shooting\, you see\, hear\, or feel anything out of the ordinary and do not know how to address it\, do nothing.  That means keep your finger off the trigger\, keep your firearm pointed downrange\, keep looking downrange.  Then you can raise your non-dominant hand\, and a Range Safety Officer will help you address the issue in a safe manner.  At our next PRSC-W meeting\, we’ll show you how to address malfunctions on your own. \n\n\n\n\nSee you soon\,\nSue Wassermann\n352-300-0890\nNRA Certified Pistol\, Rifle\, and CCW Instructor\, and Chief Range Safety Officer\n\n\nSign up now!

DESCRIPTION:Ladies – I missed seeing you on the first Monday of the month for our Pine Ridge Shooters Club Women’s (PRSC-W) meeting.  Hope you all had a fun and safe Independence Day weekend instead. \n\nAlthough we didn’t have a Women’s meeting in July\, we are having a PRSC meeting on Tuesday July 13 and will have Sheriff Mike Prendergast as our guest speaker.\n\nWe’re also holding another Women-only shoot!!  On Saturday\, July 17th I’ll be teaching Pistol 101 to another set of ladies then taking them to the range.  We’ll be at the competition range and have paper targets set up at the rifle range\, steels set up in the left bay and the short tactical course set up in the right bay.  In other words\, we’ll have something for everyone.\n\nIf you haven’t shot with us before\, this is the time to join us.  If you haven’t shot in a while\, this is the time to brush up on your skills.  If you’ve remained current\, this is the time to take your skills to the next level.  We’ll have extra coaches available to ensure everyone has a great experience\, improves their skills\, and stays safe.\n\n\n\nPistol 101 will be held 9-noon Saturday July 17 at the Pine Ridge Community Center and is free for club members.\n\nThe Pistol 101 course is designed to teach you to safely shoot a semi-automatic pistol or revolver with supervision.  You will learn the NRA’s five fundamentals of pistol shooting as well as proper grip and stance and leave prepared for the range time in the afternoon.  You can bring your own pistol or let me know if you would like to borrow one of mine.  NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM.\n\n\nThe shoot is 1-3 Saturday afternoon at Outpost Range’s competition range and will cost $15 (paid at the Outpost office).\nYou must have a current Outpost Range membership\, so arrive 30-45 minutes early if you haven’t already joined.  Remember your eye and ear protection\, pistol\, ammunition\, chamber flag\, water (with a screw-top\, no straws or sippy cups allowed)\, ball cap\, closed toe shoes\, etc. \n\nOur next meeting will be 6pm on Monday\, August 2.  We will go through malfunctions – what they are\, what causes them\, and what to do about them.  Remember\, a malfunction in and of itself is not dangerous.  It’s what you do after experiencing a malfunction that could create a dangerous situation.  Therefore\, if while shooting\, you see\, hear\, or feel anything out of the ordinary and do not know how to address it\, do nothing.  That means keep your finger off the trigger\, keep your firearm pointed downrange\, keep looking downrange.  Then you can raise your non-dominant hand\, and a Range Safety Officer will help you address the issue in a safe manner.  At our next PRSC-W meeting\, we’ll show you how to address malfunctions on your own. \n\n\n\n\nSee you soon\,\nSue Wassermann\n352-300-0890\nNRA Certified Pistol\, Rifle\, and CCW Instructor\, and Chief Range Safety Officer\n\n\n  \nRegister Now!

DESCRIPTION:PRSC Women’s Group meetings is scheduled for 600\, Monday August 2ns at the Pine Ridge Community Center. \nAll are welcome!\n\n\n\nAugust already?!?!?!  Must mean that we’re going to meet on Monday at 6pm. \n \nThis month’s topic will be Stoppages and Malfunctions.  What’s the difference between them\, how to remedy them\, and how to avoid them\, all keeping safety in mind.\n \nWe’ll have dummy rounds and pistols for you to perform malfunction drills with\, so this meeting will be very hands-on.\n \n \nI admit I was hesitant to carry a semi-auto pistol (vs revolver) because my semi-auto pistol experience was mostly with a .22 and I “didn’t trust” that a semi-auto wouldn’t malfunction.  \n \nWith additional training\, I realized that \n   1) .22 ammo is inherently less reliable than centerfire ammo\, \n   2) .22 pistols are often finicky about the brand of ammo they’ll reliably feed\, and \n \nMOST IMPORTANTLY\n   3) the problem was not a lack of trust in the gun\, it was my own lack of training.\n \n \nWith additional training and regular practice\, I now have the freedom to carry a semi-auto pistol with greater capacity than a revolver\, and the added opportunity for rapid reloads.\n \nHope you can join us Monday\, Aug 2 at 6pm in the Pine Ridge Community Center to drill Stoppages and Malfunctions.\n \nSue\nNRA Certified CRSO\, Basic Pistol\, Rifle\, and CCW Instructor\n352-300-0890

DESCRIPTION:This Saturday\, Oct 23\, another edition of Pistol 101.  8:30AM – 12 classroom time\, then 1-3PM at Outpost Range.  Make sure you have acquired your Outpost Range membership card before Saturday.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClassroom portion will be held at the Pine Ridge Community Center and is free for club members.  Bring a lunch\, as we’ll head to the range right after class.\nThe Pistol 101 course is designed to teach you to safely shoot a semi-automatic pistol or revolver with supervision.  You will learn the NRA’s five fundamentals of pistol shooting as well as proper grip and stance and leave prepared for the range time in the afternoon.  You can bring your own pistol or let me know if you would like to borrow one.  NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM.\nWe’ll take your classroom training out to the range 1-3 later that afternoon at Outpost Range (cost dependent on which Outpost membership you got).\nYou must have a current Outpost Range membership\, so be sure to visit them before next Saturday to watch their safety video and acquire your range membership card ($20 for a year).  Be sure to tell them you’re with the Pine Ridge Shooters Club.\nFor the live-fire shooting\, you must provide your own eye and ear protection\, water (with a screw-top\, no straws or sippy cups allowed)\, wear a ball cap\, a crew-neck shirt\, and closed toe shoes.  If you’re bringing your own pistol\, you will need a box of ammo and a chamber flag (available at Outpost’s shop).  If you need to borrow a pistol\, let me know ASAP.\n\nRegistration will be available on shooters.pineridgeassn.com soon\, or you can reply to my email or call me. \n\nPlease call if you have any questions\, and I hope to see you soon\,\n\nSue Wassermann\n352-300-0890\nNRA Certified Pistol\, Rifle\, and CCW Instructor\, and Chief Range Safety Officer\n\n\n			\n				Sign up now!

DESCRIPTION:It’s time to meet again:  6pm Monday November 1 at the Pine Ridge Community Center – – can you believe it’s NOVEMBER already?!?! \nI attended the A Girl and A Gun Fall Fest 2021.  This was my second Fall Fest and was even more fun than the first one.  At our Pine Ridge Shooters Club – Women’s Group (PRSC-W) meeting we’ll discuss different competitive disciplines and how they make us better shooters and keep it fun for us.  I’ll show videos of some of the competitions and we can critique\, laugh\, and be entertained by some of the shenanigans (safety first) that go on during competitions. \nLori Roth and I ran another Pistol 101 last Saturday and had 10 ladies in attendance.  Some took the course for the second time\, which is a great idea.  There’s a lot to pistol shooting\, and no one can be expected to take it all in the first time.  We’ll run another course in January.
