PRSC Women’s Group meeting

August already?!?!?!  Must mean that we’re going to meet on Monday at 6pm.

 

This month’s topic will be Stoppages and Malfunctions.  What’s the difference between them, how to remedy them, and how to avoid them, all keeping safety in mind.

 

We’ll have dummy rounds and pistols for you to perform malfunction drills with, so this meeting will be very hands-on.

 

 

I admit I was hesitant to carry a semi-auto pistol (vs revolver) because my semi-auto pistol experience was mostly with a .22 and I “didn’t trust” that a semi-auto wouldn’t malfunction.  

 

With additional training, I realized that 

   1) .22 ammo is inherently less reliable than centerfire ammo, 

   2) .22 pistols are often finicky about the brand of ammo they’ll reliably feed, and 

 

MOST IMPORTANTLY

   3) the problem was not a lack of trust in the gun, it was my own lack of training.

 

 

With additional training and regular practice, I now have the freedom to carry a semi-auto pistol with greater capacity than a revolver, and the added opportunity for rapid reloads.
